Socks and Sandals

Hi friends!

If you know me then you know how obsessed I am with socks. I’m rarely barefoot and I literally have an entire drawer dedicated to my crazy sock collection. Lately I’ve been looking for a pair of cute sandals that will showcase my socks since I’ll be going back home to SoCal in a month where it’s definitely too hot to wear boots with my socks - which is one of my go to looks during fall and winter time. I came across these while shopping with my mom over spring break and instantly fell in love with the 70’s vibe that they give off. Since I’m a bit self conscious about my feet I decided to throw on a pair of my favorite socks under them. I think they look super cute and I found a way to wear my new favorite sandals while still protecting my feet from the cold San Francisco air!

Day and Night

Being someone who is always on the go I find it important to be able to transform a “day outfit” into a “night outfit” without having to change into something completely new once the sun sets. If you have plans with friends after work or after a day filled with running errands and don’t have time to stop at home to put on something different you can simply change your shoes and add some sparkle to your outfit and be ready to go! Although this outfit may not be suitable for an office job, it can definitely work for someone who has a job in a creative setting, and keeping a pair of heels and a nice jacket in your car to throw on before going out is as easy as pie!

Check Mate

I bought these checked slip-on Vans a few weeks ago and I’ve been wearing them nonstop ever since! I feel like I’m in sixth grade again taking P.E. way too seriously (I was the fastest girl in my class ya’know). I'm someone who enjoys playing with patterns and colors so these shoes are a perfect addition to my wardrobe, and I think they do a pretty good job of sprucing up my outfits.

There are so many different patterns to choose from when it comes to Vans slip-ons. Choose a pair, whether it’s a simple white pair or ones with a pattern that fits your personality. I mean, what’s better than a pair of cute shoes that you can walk in all day long? I highly recommend that you invest in a pair this season!

Throwback Thursday

NEWSFLASH: Velvet is totally making a come back! Recently my mom bought me a velvet top and told me that it reminded her of the 90’s, so I decided to do some research. I came across some pictures from the 90’s of fashion icons Drew Barrymore and Winona Ryder wearing velvet and they’re totally rocking it!

You can keep it subtle like I did and just wear a velvet top with some jeans, or go all out with a velvet dress or some velvet leggings with a rocker tee and some combat boots. When it comes to velvet, the options are endless!

Faux Yeah!

When I got this faux fur jacket for Christmas from my mom I nearly cried tears of joy, I’m obsessed. I always have one item in my closet that I treasure like it’s my own child and this is definitely that item at the moment. Fur is totally trending right now and I highly recommend adding some of it to your closet! Faux fur jackets aren’t always the cheapest but I was able to find a few that won’t make you go completely bankrupt here, here, and here.

Throw your faux fur jacket over a rocker tee and some jeans and you’ll be the koolest kid in skool!

Until next time!

Stay on Top

This summer is all about crop tops. There are many different options when it comes to crop tops like short crop tops as well as longer versions.

If you don't want to show off too much skin try pairing your crop top with longer shorts or pants. I like to wear mine with my boyfriend jeans, which gives the outfit a more edgy look.

Being someone who gets cold easily, I like to keep a flannel or jacket with me, but carrying it around can be annoying. Tying it around your waist adds a little something extra to your outfit.

G is for Go For It!

Something that I enjoy doing when putting together an outfit is mixing patterns. Some people think that mixing patterns is a no-go, but I say go for it! Who says you always have to match perfectly?

Mixing patterns is very popular right now, but there are a few guidelines you should follow because you don’t want to look like a crazy person. The easiest way to mix patterns is to choose patterns from the same color family. Another easy way to mix patterns is to choose patterns that compliment each other, like florals and stripes. Mixing patterns is a lot of fun, and it will make you look at pieces in your closet in a different way.

I told you that this wouldn’t be the last of this jacket! This time, I decided to pair it with a flannel for a more casual, everyday look.
