Lately the lines between menswear and womenswear have been a
bit blurred. Walking down the street you’ll notice women in tailored suits,
sportswear, and sneakers, and I think it’s awesome. I don’t
know much about men’s fashion, but ever since brands like Gucci, Prada, and
Givenchy have incorporated more gender-neutral looks into their collections I’ve
decided to make an effort to learn.
In my attempts to incorporate menswear into my wardrobe I’ve
tried wearing clothes from my guy friends’ closets multiple times, and the only
items that ever seemed to fit me correctly were flannels and sweatshirts, which
wasn't exactly the look I was going for. After many failed attempts at borrowing
my guy friends’ clothing I decided to invest in this Trouvé pantsuit from
Nordstrom. It’s perfectly versatile because I can wear it with a casual t-shirt
and oxfords for a day downtown or at work, or I can dress it up with a pair
of heels for an interview or a nice dinner. The pieces can also be worn
separately, which is another bonus! The jacket can be worn with a pair of jeans or over a dress and the pants can be worn with a low cut top and some dainty necklaces to put a feminine twist on it.
